This is amazing! Would love to understand how you get your FreeCAD speaker cabient designs into your modelling software in real time. Really impressive
Do you use a combination of the air flow analysis of free CAD and excel spread sheets? I'm curious what the program is that's open on the same monitor as free CAD
Would love to see some explanations about complications from corners/bends in ports/horn paths. Your videos are great, I have learnt a lot from your channel!
Graph 2:39
Graph 2:02
Graph 3:52
What would be awesome is to include a middle section, that has a semicircle of driver mount on the bottom and top, has no bottom, and has tongue and groove on either side. This means you could make multiple driver stackable sections.
I'm really happy I came across your video... I was recently involved in a subwoofer enclosure project, and the entire time i was wondering "why isn't this being done in OpenSCAD, it would be so much easier. Maybe I should do that". I really appreciate your commitment to using FOSS software, always cool to see FreeCAD used in production. Would you be open to sharing some of your OpenSCAD files so I can try to mod one for my use case?
On headphones. Sounds great. I like that you include some audio of you talking or yelling while listening to give a sense of how loud it is. I know spls levels says too but hearing it works well. This has opened my eyes to small subs!
Great!
I was going to build a sealed enclosure but listening to your explanation stopped me, as my driver has an EBP of 120 so clearly not suitable. Thank you for making the complex accessible!
I have a problem wit BL Can u help?
got a skar 6.5 door sub in a horn enclosure. hitting 108db at 36hz in my living room with 300 watts
thank you for the information. this is very informative.
What size is the speaker itself?
@HexiBase Any chance an STL or similar for this build will go on Printables / Thingiverse?
If I recall correctly, when I had *FOUR 12's* in an isobaric box (i.e., clam shell setup)... ...I hooked up both subwoofers inside the box with reverse polarity (i.e., positive to negative, and negative to positive) and the two subwoofers outside the box with normal polarity (i.e., positive to positive, and negative to negative) when bolting the subwoofers face to face (with a 3/4" wood ring in between the subs that I prefabbed myself) . In this configuration, they all worked together as a team and had a lot higher dB gain from 20Hz-60Hz running at 2ft³ per chamber for each pair (as it had a divider in the Dual 12" 4ft³ net volume box).
How much would it cost to have you make me plans for a ported enclosure.
Do you know what the cubic feet measurement of the enclosure?
Do you know what the cubic feet measurement of the enclosure?
Imagine leveraging AI to automate and optimize a sub for a specific vehicle and wild organic looking designs that could be created with its iterative process. Like a subwoofer enclosure that looks like something out of an Alien movie.
In your designs, how are the differences between the volume of the box itself and the tube or air outlet? Since I have seen in many of your projects, that there is almost no difference between one and the other, and that almost the entire box is a route of the air outlet. I find it very curious
i just wanna build my little ported box but i dont know how to do the port lol im way out of my depth here in this video lol
I’m building these to be a regular Bluetooth speaker with some Dayton audio 2.5’s
I would love to know what this software is called
UA-cam needs to change its logo to facepalm😅. The amount of work you do always amazes me. Totally underated this channel...
Hello i would like to give a try to this amazing design by printing with only 1 perimeter (widht=0.8mm) + filling with epoxy the wall to increase stiffness + weight of the speaker, plus make it kind of splashproff for outdoor usage. Do you have recomendation ? good idea for you ? how to protect tweater and boomer from humidity/water splash ?
I wonder what level spl you are getting. Not that I'm into spl but I have two 12" Alpine RS-12D4s in a sealed enclosure in a Dodge Durango.
How would 2 High efficiency full range speakers handle this arrangement? Something like an Altec Biflex speakers facing each other... Does Isobaric loading only work well with low frequencies?
That is insane, bravo... bravo !!! Really impressive man.
I wish i could purchase some of these finished products!!
Mickey Mouse Boat :D
I need a VPN to watch the demo of this.
Thank you for this video!
i know this is old but i would love to see something like this with the ND91's.
That's a long port - might be easier with a passive radiator, though not as cool looking.
I'm curious to know how much output you can get if you keep expanding that horn into something the area of a doorway, not that you can't get more output with a bigger driver in a more compact offering, but seeing the performance limits of a 2" driver is pretty cool. You made a Bose Wave radio. Now the other thing would be to make an enormous box with a 12/15/18?
Love your channel bro!
I was in the hay day of loud deep base car stereo days of the early 90's. Lots of linear 5002's, rockford fosgate and literally tons of others on play. I've built systems that have gone to iasca soundoffs nationally mostly using kicker double stitched competition speakers in either isobaric, vented or passive radiator arrangements(popular then). I built and enclosure in place inside of a 75 vette stingray with 4 10" comp kickers and a 600 watt amp that kept breaking off the rear view mirror while driving. I miss those days even tho most music was metal and pop rock. Another system i built made a friends car sound like it had a radical cam in the engine from a block away as he came down the cruising strip playing the intro drums for hot for teacher(van halen). Those were the wild west days of stereo and speaker design that was so fun.
Hi. im curious to know what model is your cnc machine?
Let me get this straight... you implemented a FDTD algorithm in LibreOffice(?!) and built a custom plugin for FreeCAD that automatically sends parameter updates to be calculated in real time?? That is dedication!
geez thats a deep bass
where is the demo at the end?
I stumbled across this channel when wanting to know about 4th order 6th order boxes ect. This one I liked also . Very interesting. From Iowa.
I really enjoyed your video. I have a cnc machine also and am thinking about building a box for my Nissan Frontier crew cab. It only have the space under my rear seat. What recommendations could you give to what order box I could make? I found a box that had 4x 6.5’s, although I think it’s just a shell. I am fine with one or two 6.5’s if I could possibly accomplish some of the sound to represented in your small subwoofer builds! Any help would be amazing!!
the graph in 5:04 show that parralel connection has more dB at lower HZ, how the series connection was would change (if at all) if it was also arranged in an isobaric configuration but in series?
That 3d measureing tool is awesome
I didnt even know they still made og ender 3 and cr10 clones
I love the way sophie told you to switch spots when you were showing her the horn effect on the tweeter she really cares about your experience and how you both experience your projects together
can you make a blue tooth boom box with that ?
Hi, what material better for this sub? ABS, PLA or PETG?
